WHAT RIGHT DO WE HAVE?

All day long we are barraged by the Liberal talking point that we have a “Right” to healthcare. Usually, the implication right after that is that Obamacare is going to provide that right.

Let’s reflect back a few years, shall we? “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

This is one of the best-known sentences in the English language containing the most potent and consequential words in American history. It represents a moral standard which the United States has always adhered to. The Declaration of Independence is a statement of principles through which the United States Constitution was written to protect. And it does just that. However, nowhere in the Declaration or the Constitution is there any statement or reference to a “right” to another person’s portion of their own life.

So there you have it. None of us have a “Right” to healthcare. Why? Because . . . any time we receive care for our health issues, someone else is providing that care. They are taking their time to tend to our problems. Doctors pay to go to college, pay for their offices, their malpractice insurance and maintain their equipment, all to ply their trade. Now, Liberals are saying that we have a right to demand that they use their property and time to care for us when we are sick. What if one of those doctors decided to be a home builder instead of enter the healthcare profession? Do we have a right to demand that he or she build us a house? No person, and especially no government, has a right to force one person to give up their time, their money or their own rights to satisfy the needs of another person. Period!

This is the mantra of the Left, used to slowly chip away at all of our rights and build a government so large and so powerful that eventually even the rights that we do have “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” are no longer unalienable. They are, instead, dictated to us by our own government.

For me, it is more than worrisome; it’s downright scary that so many people in this once great country have no problem trampling the rights of their neighbors. Welcome to our new socialist, progressive, communist, liberal country.
